A profile says more than a star
What else someone recommends, where they travel, what they use every day — the whole picture makes a single recommendation something you can judge. A star from a stranger can't do that.
Ads are called ads
If ShineLists earns from a link, the platform labels it “Ad”. Creators label their own partner links themselves. And anyone who wants to can add whether something was bought themselves, a PR sample or sponsored.
Together instead of anonymous
Plan trips together, share wishlists, collect places as a group — recommendations here come about between people who know each other, not in an anonymous crowd.
No stars from strangers
No average of a thousand anonymous ratings: every recommendation has a profile behind it, and where several votes turn into a number or a ranking, it says how. When you see a recommendation here, you know who it's from.
Recommendations are self-declared — whoever adds one decides what it says. We don't check them for truth and couldn't; what protects you is whom you follow. If you notice something that isn't right, you can report it — we'll take a look.
